Supreme Court Ruling To Imo Citizens

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has dedicated the affirmation of his victory at the April 11 governorship election to God and the people of the state.

Speaking to Channels Television, Governor Okorocha insisted that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should not have approached the judiciary to ask for the nullification of his victory.

“The Supreme Court ruling is a victory for Imo State people and a victory for Democracy. It is a victory that is ordained by God.

“In the first place, there was no reason for that court case really, giving the history of the election and what transpired. If there is anyone who wants to go to court, that should be us for what happened in three local governments where there were outright rip of democracy.

“There was this “power” from high that was intimidating everyone who was not part of the ruling party,” he said, referring to the PDP government at that time.

Governor Okorocha stressed that the victory was won through the support of the people and God, saying that he had, before the election, suffered “humiliation and all sorts of impunity”.
