Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has challenged the club to stand by him or sack him in his post match interview after his team's humiliating home defeat against Southampton.
The champions' bad start to the season continues with the defeat by Ronald Koeman’s Southampton team. Despite being 1-0 up within 10 minutes due to a moment of brilliance by Willian, it all seemed to fall apart for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Davies, Mane and Pelle sealed the victory for the ‘Saints’ in a win that takes Southampton up to ninth in the table. For Chelsea it was their fourth defeat in eight matches, knocking the team down to sixteenth. Checkout what he said after cut
Following the game, Jose Mourinho responded to the question of his leaving the club with a categorical 'No!' He said that he would stay and honour his contract at the club, though if the club wants him to depart Stamford Bridge then he will do so.
The Portuguese stated: “No way I will resign, because Chelsea cannot have a better manager than me, there are many managers of my stature but no one is better for the job than me so I will not run away.
"I love the club so much that I will not leave. I said it when I became champion, and I will say it now: if the owner and the board want me to leave then I will go”.
