Our founder Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ) was in London over the past 24 hours for a number of appointments and meetings. After arriving in the morning, Nigeria's former President participated in the panel for the sixth of White and Case’s Autumn Conference series titled “Financing in Africa: The impact of natural resources discoveries” where he chaired the panel with Cherie Blair CBE, QC. Tsatsu Tsikata, Former CEO of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Helmut Engelbrecht, Standard Bank Head of Corporate and Investment Banking for Africa, Rebecca Campbell and Jason Kerr who are both partners at White & Case.

The panel reviewed infrastructure development in the context of the tremendous growth seen in the mining sectors of many African nations. Contributions from the panel and proceedings from the conference shall be available on the White and Case website shortly.

Next, his Excellency Obasanjo proactively held an impromptu meeting at the Headquarters of the OOF in Grosvenor gardens, London to discuss the foundation operations in the past few weeks as well as scheduling new programs and events in support of our initiatives in 2014.

Later in the evening OBJ was hosted by the former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair for tea at his London residence before returning to Nigeria early this morning.
